Legislative Days - December 12-15, 2016
During Legislative Days, Committees may hold informational hearings on topics that could lead to legislation in upcoming sessions, hear updates on implementations of past legislation, hear reports from state agencies and Task Forces, and keep current on the subject areas which affect Oregonians. During Legislative Days, the Senate may also convene for the purpose of making executive appointments.
Legislative Organizational Days - January 9-11, 2017
During Organizational Days, members-elect are sworn in as legislators, bills are introduced, and committee membership is announced.
The 79th Legislative Assembly will convene Wednesday, February 1st, 2017. Legislative Session is the period of time in which the Legislative Assembly is convened for purpose of lawmaking. Regular sessions convene each February and may last 160 days in odd-numbered years and 35 days in even-numbered years.
