The Accelerated Learning Program of the Community College of Baltimore County
As part of the end-of-session bill for 2016 the Oregon Legislature appropriated $600,000 to CCWD for support of developmental education redesign in the area of corequisite course implementation. Eight community colleges have completed action plans and received grant funds to incent the development and scaling of corequisites in writing. To assist with these efforts Dr. Peter Adams, faculty emeritus, Community College of Baltimore County, facilitated the first of two sessions with participating colleges on October 21. The second session will take place on January 12-13, 2017.

- Placement Workgroup Final Report - April 2016
The most recent report resulting from collective efforts to redesign developmental education in Oregon. It focuses on using multiple measures – rather than a single standardized test – to more effectively place students. It presents the research of John Hetts, which was instrumental in inspiring the Developmental Education Redesign Placement Work Group to recommend that all Oregon campuses begin to implement placement systems that rely on multiple measures, a recommendation that has already informed the work of the HB2681 Committee, that group charged by the legislature to recommend changes to campus placement practices. The report provides examples of multiple measure placement grids outside of Oregon and also presents new innovative practices that are either in the works or being implemented at Klamath and Clackamas. - Ensuring Student Success Through the Redesign of Developmental Education: A Year Two Report - July 2015
