Guided Pathways Overview and Exploration Webinars

On Thursday, April 6, the Oregon Student Success Center hosted “Guided Pathways Overview and Exploration” webinars presented by Dr. Rob Johnstone, Founder and President, National Center for Inquiry and Improvement. On each hour-long webinar, Dr. Johnstone provided an overview of Guided Pathways but also dug deeper to illustrate how a particular community college group may be impacted. The four groups featured in the webinars were faculty, student services, instructional administrators, and presidents/board members.

The Accelerated Learning Program of the Community College of Baltimore County

As part of the end-of-session bill for 2016 the Oregon Legislature appropriated $600,000 to CCWD for support of developmental education redesign in the area of corequisite course implementation. Eight community colleges have completed action plans and received grant funds to incent the development and scaling of corequisites in writing. To assist with these efforts Dr. Peter Adams, faculty emeritus, Community College of Baltimore County, facilitated the first of two sessions with participating colleges on October 21. The second session will take place on January 12-13, 2017.
