Secretary of State’s Audit (2022)
The Oregon Secretary of State’s Office conducted what it called an audit of the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC) in 2022, and publicly released the audit report on Dec. 19, 2022. The report, titled “Oregon Must Improve Community College Performance, Student Support, and Sustainability Amid Persistent Enrollment Declines,” was more of a critique of the community colleges rather than an audit of the HECC. Below is a link to the full audit report, as well as media reports related to the audit. In addition, there is a link to a memo OCCA sent to the Secretary of State’s Office with feedback regarding the audit.
